XIAN LIM: ABOUT LIFE, LOVE AND HIS LOLA

Spread the love

While the world is still struggling and coping with the effects of this pandemic, showbiz peeps are slowly adapting to the new normal way of working.

Xian Lim is no exception. Before Covid-19 hit the country, Xian was on his feet traveling, shooting for a film and directing his own indie project.  He is currently finishing a teleserye (Love Thy Woman) which they had to do under a lock-in taping arrangement that required them to be on the set for 2 straight weeks, as in walang uwian ang buong cast.

XIAN’S CRY ON IG

Xian went on IG live on August 24 and this time he was not his usual jolly and smiling self.  As he spoke and began his intro, sadness was very much apparent in his face and he kept clearing his throat. Hanggang hindi na niya mapigilang umiyak.

Xian broke the news that his Lola was diagnosed to have breast cancer. That day, they were going to bring his Lola to the hospital as she had to undergo a surgical procedure (mastectomy).

In between sobs, he gave his message for his followers and friends– not to take their parents and grand parents for granted while they are still around.

“If you still have your parents, your lola, lolo with you-say I love you to them. Show them how much you appreciate them. Enjoy them while they are still around. Yeah, malakas pa naman siya. It’s just that may mga uncertainties in life na hindi natin nako-kontrol.

So, love your parents, love your grand parents. Because all the money in the world, all the things you have, wala ‘yang laban sa time.  So, please spend time and love the people around you.” emosyonal pang sabi ni Xian.

Dahil single mom si Mommy Mary Anne (she and Xian’s dad are separated), lumaki si Xian na mag-isang tinataguyod ng ina. This set up though wasn’t too hard for them because his grandparents also lived with them. Kaya hindi rin nakakapagtakang malapit si Xian sa Lola niya kahit dominant ang presence ni Mommy Mary Anne.

After years of living in the United States where Xian spent his childhood, nagdesisyon silang bumalik sa Pilipinas at dito na rin nagsimula ang offers kay Xian na mag artista.

Si Mommy Mary Anne ay naging print ad model din in her younger years.

Now that Xian is busy with his taping and shooting schedule, he still makes it a point to spend time with these two women he is so grateful to have in his life, Mommy Mary Anne and his Lola.

XIAN’S MESSAGE SENT

For sure, Xian and his loved ones are also facing  difficulties brought about by this pandemic. Who doesn’t?

His Lola’s condition may add up to his worries but Xian wants to share one important thing he learned along the way.

It is to be able to express our gratitude and love to our parents and grandparents while they are still with us.

It may sound cheesy or mushy to others who are less expressive but it’s better to show and say things rather than regret not having said anything at all.
