Three weeks ago, the social media world was shocked by the news that actor John Regala was seen in the streets of Pasay City seemingly lost and in pain. A concerned citizen came to him and asked what he needed and John replied that he was waiting for his nurse. He found it difficult at first to understand what John was saying because of his slurred speech.
He opted not to leave Regala until he was sure that the actor was okay. Carl Nathan, the delivery boy who chose to do good that day, changed the path in the actor’s life.
OPLAN: HELP JOHN REGALA
After the much talked about social media post, kaliwa’t kanang shows ang gustong kunin ang pahayag ni John at magpaabot ng tulong. He needed financial support to take care of his everyday needs and medication.
In fact, they even formed a group to assist him so he’d be able to manage himself hanggang sa ma-address ang hospital care niya sa National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) kung saan siya nakapasok with the help of Party List Representative Ronnie Ong.
JOHN REGALA ON TULFO IN ACTION
RTIA, for those who don’t know, is You Tube’s number one public service online show hosted by no less than Mr. Raffy Tulfo.
He was then interviewed via phone patch by Idol Raffy at kinwento nga ng aktor ang kundisyon niya. The interview covered various excerpts of John’s personal life including his past affairs. RTIA also contacted his first wife who is now based in the US and they were able to talk.
Idol Raffy gave the actor a generous amount of 100 thousand pesos plus a whopping 6 months supply of groceries.
And as of this writing, muling nagpa-interview si John sa RTIA (August 19,2020) at doon ay sinabi niyang nagpasya siyang lumabas ng ospital dahil bumubiti na rin daw ang pakiramdam niya. Aniya, lumalaki na rin daw ang bayarin at gastusin niya and he doesn’t want to cause so much burden to other people.
WHEN HELP ENDS
After all the help, effort and care that was extended to him by the group of Tita Aster, Nadia and Chucky, they finally called it quits last August 18, 2020.
Ayon pa sa joint statement (see below) nina Tita Aster, Nadia at Chucky, no amount of effort on their part can help a very uncooperative and difficult individual. Having said this, they will turn over every amount donated and given to him to the one who will be in charge of the actor’s care.
We hope everyone has learned a lesson from this too. You have to save while you are earning well because it’s not all the time that people will be available to help you.
