Former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) Sarah Balabagan shocked the internet nation when she revealed in her FB Live that Arnold Clavio, GMA 7 Broadcast journalist/host, is the father of her first child. It’s been two decades now since this rumor circulated in the entertainment industry when Sarah crossed paths with Arnold, who at that time was assigned to cover the girl’s devastating plight in UAE.
Sarah, who is now based in the US, says she is happily married and she even asked her husband for his and her family’s consent to speak, out of respect for them. According to her, what burst the bubble was a post she saw online, na nu’ng nakita raw niya ‘yun ay naisip niyang kailangan na niya talagang magsalita. Hindi naman daw habang buhay niyang kayang ipagtanggol ang anak niya and it’s not as if forever na she’s gonna stay alive to protect her. So, she might as well spill the beans straight from her mouth kesa sa iba pa manggaling ang katotohanan. “Ang ama po ng panganay ko ay yes, si Arnold Clavio po.”
“Kaya ko ‘to ginawa dahil after 22 years lumabas na naman. Sabi nga nila, walang bahong hindi lalabas. Hindi naman po ako nalulungkot dahil by God’s grace masaya na ako sa buhay ko.” sabi pa ni Sarah sa FB Live nito.
ANG KUWENTO NI SARAH
According to Sarah, she met Arnold in UAE when she was still imprisoned. He covered the case of Sarah for his station’s news program. Nahatulan si Sarah ng death by firing squad dahil sa kasong pagpaslang sa kanyang amo na nagtangkang gahasain siya. Sa tulong ng ating Philippine government at ng dakilang puso ng isang businessman na siyang nagbigay ng blood money, napababa ang sentensya ni Sarah. Siya ay nakulong, 100 times na hinampas ng baston at pinagmulta.
After all the struggles she faced in UAE, nagbalik si Sarah sa Pilipinas noong August 1996. Dito muling nag-krus ang landas nila ng mamamahayag dahil Clavio was the one who again covered the case here.
“Naging exclusive lang niya ang story.” says Sarah.
Shortly after her arrival, they became friends.
Because of all the trauma and hardships she went through at a young age, Sarah just wished for a peaceful life when she returned to Manila. In fact, it was her “Kuya” Arnold who volunteered to tour her around and they even watched a movie together daw.
RUMOOORSHHH NI IGAN
When Sarah got pregnant, rumors circulated that the father of her child was Philippine Ambassador Roy Seneres.
Ngayon, matapos ang maraming taon, tinuwid na ni Sarah ang maling akala ng marami, “Napakabait po ni Ambassador Seneres at ng pamilya niya. Katunayan, sila po ang tumulong sa akin nu’ng mga panahong ‘yun.”
Nabanggit din ni Sarah, hindi na sila nag usap ni Arnold.
Ayon pa sa kanya, sinabi pa raw ni Clavio sa kanya at that time na kahit anong mangyari, “walang aamin.”
Not until today.
SARAH’S LESSONS
A former Muslim, Sarah is now a devout Christian and has learned to forgive and move on by God’s saving grace. She also said on her FB Live that she has already forgiven Arnold and she has completely moved on and is happy now with her family.
Sarah also said she initiated the move to get in touch with Arnold’s wife through messenger.
“Humingi po ako ng tawad sa kanya at sa naging relasyon namin ni Arnold noon.”
Well, since that FB Live that shocked us all, Arnold has remained silent. He updates his social media accounts but he never mentions nor answers the issue about the paternity of Sarah’s child.
Dedma lang siya kahit patuloy siyang kini-kuwestyon at bina-bash.
Well, his golden silence could mean yes to Sarah’s statement.
