Chabby: A Cat Story

First Meow Chapter

I’ve always had this love for animals especially for dogs and cats. I grew up seeing them around our house and at a young age I was taught by my elders to be kind and caring to them.

Having a pet…

I was already in College when I got myself a pet dog but unfortunately, a little after I graduated, she passed away.  From that time on, I promised I won’t get myself a pet anymore, basically to spare me from the pain of losing a beloved pet after having invested time and emotion in caring for her.

Until Chabby Came…

A few weeks after Chabby was born, she was already active and playful

Who is Chabby? You may ask.

On a cold and rainy night in December 2016, this little nugget was born and with the nurturing care of her mother, Chabby and her siblings were able to survive.

A few days later however, Chabby was left alone and we discovered that mama cat relocated her other kittens. Because Chabby weighed more than her siblings, mama cat couldn’t lift her up to the ceiling where she hid them. So my mom and I took it upon ourselves to cover her up and put her in a warm place where she can wait for mama cat to feed her. She liked to stay behind the ref because maybe she felt warm and comfortable.

Now….

This is Chabby now.  Healthy, playful and yes, snobbish at times

Chabby grew up to be a playful cat, always chasing after grasshoppers, butterflies, dragonflies and other insects. She is always curious about the things around her and loves to tag along with my mom when she does her gardening. She has a fascination for birds and we always see her looking up and watching the birds perched on the rooftop.  I just love to play with her especially when she hints for a massage. Oh, she has her moods and can be aloof at times. She can be snobbish when she’s not in the mood. So, how about your pet?  Does she like being cuddled or not?

Bird watching….

Come and let me know your thoughts.

Chabby’s story to be continued…

  1. cats thinks they are royalty, so expect them to snubbish sometimes hehe..kidding aside, i admire people who adopt stray kittens/cats. I myself adopted 4 stray cats and they are so adorable! My stress reliever from a days hard work.

  2. Do you know why she is interested in birds.. That’s one of her fav foodie! Remember Sylvester the black cat, who does he want???.. of course the lil yellow birdie, Tweety bird!!
    Great job Chanie!
