Tiffany’s Confections
Chan-Chan Torres
Bacolod City is known for its rich agricultural land with sugarcane as its prime crop and one of the Negrenses’ main source of income. Because of this, majority of the businesses in the province thrive on sugar based products. Well, if you think you’ve already gone to some of the best dessert places in the city, hmmm, there’s more to discover.
TIFFANY’s Confections
I first heard of this café when I arrived from Manila in 2014. True enough, Tiffany Yapjoco-Mombay (owner/manager) said she started her food business that year and it was first located along 8th Lacson St.
In 2016, they moved to The Boxes at The Market Place, NGC with more food offerings, homey ambiance and bigger parking area. The French windows, metal dining set, white painted interior walls and bright lights at night in the al fresco area give diners the feeling of warmth and home.
This quaint café is ideal for small family gatherings, casual meet ups with friends or even just for a cup of coffee paired with a slice of Tiffany’s Chocolate Hazelnut Cake or Mango Cheesecake.
Negros Bloggers Bacolod Food Crawl
The Negros Bloggers had its first Bacolod Food Crawl at The Boxes (a strip where restaurants are lined up) located at The Market Place in the New Government Center area.
Tiffany’s Confections was our first stop and they prepared for us different cake samples like mango cheesecake, kalabasa slice, chocolate hazelnut cake, chocolate caramel crunch cake, baked ziti, and the hot spinach dip paired with toasted bruschetta.
I couldn’t stop eating the Choco Hazelnut cake, hmm every bite just melts in my mouth. So good! Of all the delicious goodies Tiffany prepared, my three favorites are:
- Hot Spinach Dip- chopped spinach leaves with cream cheese and seasonings that are tangy and spicy, perfectly paired with crunchy bruschetta.
- Parmesan Crusted Pesto sandwich- a bit buttery for me but yes, it is savory. Filled with mozzarella and parmesan cheese plus the chopped pesto leaves that give a distinct flavor to the sandwich.
- Mango Cheesecake- another must try when you visit Tiffany’s.
Tiffany’s is open Sundays –Thursdays at 2pm-10pm
Fridays and Saturdays-2pm-11-pm
