#makeITsafePH :Maintaining Online Security and Safety (Online Safety Guidelines You Should Remember)
In this day and age, people from all walks of life go to the internet and social media for their concerns, whether it’s for general information, connecting with family and friends, promoting a business or surfing for new discoveries like food items, recipes, restaurants, hairstyles, make up—everything’s now available in the internet!
That’s why Globe Telecoms, through their #makeITsafe campaign, continues to give tips and guidelines on how to be safe while using the internet and how to be wise in dealing with strangers or people you come across with while surfing the net.
If it can’t be avoided, a child should be given the much needed supervision.
Maging lahat tayo lalo na sa mga kababaihan ay dapat maging alisto at maging aware sa ilang safety measures na kailangang gawin when on the internet and social media—(Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, You Tube).
Internet Safety Guidelines
- Think before you click— lagi itong naririnig, in fact naging campaign na rin ito ng isang TV station para mas maging aware ang lahat tungkol sa tamang paggamit ng social media.
Do NOT post when you are angry as much as possible. But if you are responsible for your actions and you feel you want to express something, always do so in a polite manner.
- Keep your personal information TOP SECRET–
This is to avoid your account being hacked or if you give freely the information they want, people might get something from you once you give your real name, phone number , home address or even where your school is located. So, DON’T.
- Kids on the Net—since it’s inevitable for children to use the internet lalo na ngayong pasukan na sa eskwela, it is a must for parents to guide their kids at tanungin sila kung may nakikipag-usap ba sa kanila while surfing the net. If so, they should be more cautious kung sino ang mga taong ito at kung ano ang pakay nila sa pakikipag-usap sa inyong anak. Remind your kids to be careful all the time and not be too friendly to strangers they meet online.
- Cyberbullying: Teens and adults are often victims of this and research shows that incidents like these mostly occur on Twitter and Facebook.
Here’s how to stop Cyberbullying:
Even if they are nice to you, put a distance.
Just be polite in turning down meet ups. Remember, your safety matters most than anything else. #makeITsafePH
