Hazelberry Café

Hazelberry Café opened March this year when actress Ms. Ara Mina decided to put up a café so that she can have a place where she can display and sell all her yummy cakes, pastries, pasta, rice meals and other food choices.

Ara started baking and selling her cakes and pastries shortly after she finished her Culinary course which she took in between her busy schedule as an actor.

Ara went to ISCAHM (International School for Culinary Arts and Hotel Management) in Quezon City.

I have known Ara since way back when I was still working as an entertainment writer in Manila. It is her passion for food and her entrepreneurial skills that paved the way for Hazelberry’s birth.

 

 

After its opening at the Pwesto Community Mall, Holy Spirit Drive, Don Antonio Quezon City, Ara’s cakes, cheesecakes, pasta, cupcakes and smoothie went viral on social media.

Ara’s co-actors in the entertainment industry were also delighted to try her products. In fact, in an IG post it showed that one of the frequent buyers of her Ara’s Oreo Cheesecake is none other than Megastar Sharon Cuneta who is also close to Ara.

Ara’s Oreo Cheesecake also got thumbs-up from other celebrities who have tasted  Hazelberry’s flagship dessert. Alice Dixson, Martin Nievera, Michael V., Rita Avila, Amy Austria, Sunshine Cruz, Sofia Andres, Hashtag Ronnie Alonte are among Ara’s friends who have tried and tasted Hazelberry’s delicious treat.

The Power of Oreo

I first saw Ara’s baked products on Instagram.

It was the Ara’s Oreo Cheesecake that got the public’s attention. Honestly, whenever I think about Oreo I’d associate it to sweetness that’s why I’m surprised whenever I read comments that Ara’s Oreo Cheesecake isn’t that sweet and they say that it tastes really good as Ara didn’t  scrimp on the ingredients she used. Customers also claim that the cheesecake slice is big enough for its price of P230.

Because of the demand and clamor for her Ara’s Oreo Cheesecake, the pretty Chef/Teleserye actress came up with the Ara’s Oreo Cheesecake in a jar. These are available at Hazelberry Cafe and whenever she participates in bazaars.

Red Velvet Dream

 

Hazelberry’s Red Velvet Cupcakes are also among Ara’s bestsellers. These attractive cupcakes topped with cream cheese frosting will surely make you smile after a long day.  She also bakes Red Velvet Cheesecakes for those who are partial to cakes. When she is free from her taping schedule and other commitments, Ara devotes her time in the kitchen—baking big batches of cakes, cookies and cupcakes for the next day.  She also continues to develop and whip up new variants of her baked products to the delight of her customers.

Other cakes available are moist chocolate, Japanese cheesecake, pistachio sans rival, mixed berries shortcake, chocnut cheesecake and mango cheesecake.

Food Finds at Hazelberry

Hazelberry also offers All-Day breakfast meals like Klenks tapa, crazy sexy longganisa, and chicken tocino. Main dishes include crispy kare-kare, Mandy’s fried Chicken, grilled liempo sinigang and baked bangus.

They also serve smoothies, iced coffee and non-coffee blended drinks.

Customers are assured that Ara herself checks on the quality of her food and the cleanliness of her restaurant.
