TV star Ellen Adarna openly admitted that she underwent a 14 Day Mental Training Workshop in Bali, Indonesia (Kokoro Program) under a life coach.
Kokoro in Japanese is a training that connects the mind, body and soul and puts it back in harmony again.
ELLEN BATTLES WITH SELF ISSUES AND DEPRESSION
Ellen bravely said she was diagnosed with depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Hindi na kinwento ni Ellen ang mga detalye kung bakit at paano siya nagkaroon ng depresyon, pero para ibahagi niya ang pinagdaanan niya sa kanyang mga followers sa IG, that’s strong of her to do that. Say pa ni Ellen, “So many things happened all at once in four months…” Hindi rin daw siya ang tipong madaling malungkot at ma-depress but that was what she was experiencing at that time.
May mga ininom daw siyang medication pero hindi rin tumagal, hindi na niya ito tinuloy. She had panic attacks and ’yung feeling na she was gonna puke. Lalo na pag nalulungkot siya, aniya matatanggal daw ng gamot ‘yung sadness but neither does it make her happy. Two to three years daw itong nilabanan ni Ellen until she decided to go into the Kokoro mental training program.
KOKORO TRAINING IN BALI
Under the supervision of a life coach/mentor, kinailangang harapin ni Ellen ang lahat ng mga issues that’s been bothering her to be able to get back to life again. Sa loob ng 14 days, maraming mental, emotional at physical exercises na ipinagawa sa aktres. Bukod pa rito, she also had a lot of discussions and counselling to further study and unearth her issues and emotions so that she could face everything outwardly.
Ellen admits, the first exercise was the hardest because she arrived in Bali not so well yet.
As days went on, she was able to deal with the exercises and her daily routine. One lesson that she learned from this is that your mind, body and soul should be in harmony with each other, there should be balance in life.
With all the exercises she did, she realized she was slowly gaining herself back.
Nakakatuwang malaman na sa kabila ng mga ganitong episode sa buhay niya, she was able to win the battle over depression.
LIFE GOES ON AND ON
In difficult times like what we are facing today due to the enhanced community quarantine that the Philippine government has imposed, meron din tayong mga kababayan na nahihirapan mag- cope sa sitwasyon. Nadi-depress mag-stay sa bahay o ang tinatawag na cabin fever ang mga sanay na lumalabas araw- araw para magtrabaho, magasikaso ng kanilang negosyo or maglakwatsa.
We can always stay at home and be productive. Praying and meditating clears the mind and uplifts the spirit. Ang mga opisina may work at home scheme na.
We can do or help with the household chores, exercise, read a book, bond and do some fun activities with the family.
Like Ellen said–our mind, body and soul should be in harmony so we can achieve balance in life.
