It’s been nine months since the dreadful corona virus (Covid-19) became a global pandemic. This unforeseen situation has sadly affected both the local and international food and restaurant scene that led to the closure of many establishments in this industry.

In Bacolod, restaurant goers can really feel the change since Bacolodnons are known to enjoy their food and love socializing. In order to survive, the restaurant business had to make adjustments and changes for dining in and taking out of food in order to attract customers to come again.

And Delicioso Wine Food Coffee is no exception.

They have managed to cope with these hard times and now they have even moved to a bigger venue to satisfy the needs of their customers.

NEW HOME

From their former address near a call center, Delicioso has now transferred to a wider, more spacious place. The restaurant is now located in a new building across Mesavirre Garden Residences along Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

Customers will surely feel safe when inside the restaurant as Delicioso is strictly practicing health protocols. They sanitize tables and rooms after use, all servers wear masks and are required to wash hands every 30 minutes. Liquid hand soap is provided in the restroom and they also have a UV mist which you can use on your way out of the resto.

UPDATED MENU

Delicioso is known for its quality and flavorful dishes that aren’t usually served in local restaurants in the city.  Even then, Chef Pancho Bringas, Delicioso’s resident chef, said that apart from the existing food on the menu, he also updated and enhanced more dishes that will surely excite the palate. Chef Pancho also mentioned that they use wood for cooking especially for smoked meat dishes so as to preserve its flavor.  Wood gives the smoky aroma to the meat when it is cooked.

With this in mind, I was so excited to try the food!

DELICIOSO SABOROSO FOOD

(APPETIZERS)

• PIZZA–We had pizza with generous toppings of imported cheeses, jamon serano and dried basil leaves. Bursts of different flavors in my mouth- a combination of salty because of the ham and cheese plus a little spice if you add a dash of Tabasco before taking a bite. Woooow!
• ROASTED BONE MARROW– Melt-in-your mouth roasted bone marrow topped with sauteed wild mushrooms and served with melba toast. Uhh, tempting huh?! But those who watch their cholesterol count should be mindful when eating this sinful but appetizing treat.

SANDWICHES:

• DELICIOSO SMOKED CLUB– Imagine smoked wagyu brisket, smoked bacon, smoked chicken, cheese, house mayo, brioche, lettuce, tomatoes and fries- all these flavors come together in your mouth! Wheeew… I ended up speechless after a bite.

• DELICIOSO BURGER DOG– is my personal favorite among the sandwiches I’ve tasted. Smoked bacon and beef reminds me of my childhood and every bite brings me closer to home. It also has lettuce, tomatoes with mayo in a vienna bun.

• DELICIOSO HOUSE BURGER–Savor 100% angus beef in a patty with house mayo, caramelized onions and mushrooms, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and truffle ketchup. Tastes really good!

MAINS:

• TRUFFLE PASTA– a Delicioso specialty. Penne pasta covered with cream and topped with chopped bacon, mushrooms, and mixed with truffle oil.

• SMOKED WAGYU BRISKET– slow smoked wagyu brisket served with baked BBQ beans and coleslaw salad. The baked beans is kinda sweet but it matches the smoky flavor of the oh so tender meat.

SWEET FINALE

Delicioso has a variety of cakes to choose from. That afternoon, we had Basque Burnt Cheesecake as a sweet finale to a hearty meal. I’m not so much into the too sweet type of pastries, so this one is for me. It has a creamy and soft texture and after biting into it, both the sweet and sour flavors of the cheesecake were happily savored by my taste buds.

And for deli lovers. they sell imported hams, cheeses, cold cuts, sausages, wines and other cooking ingredients you can just stock in your pantry.
