PANDEMIC ESSENTIALS: IS IT A NEED OR LUXURY?

Spread the love

ARE YOU TIRED OF THIS PANDEMIC?

It’s been almost two years since the global pandemic shocked the world and though we are stuck in this situation, we have learned to cope.

Ever since the Covid-19 virus started to contaminate and spread from one place to another, government and health authorities all over the world mandated the use of face masks and educated us on the necessary safety protocols. In the Philippines, shortly after this was implemented, use of the face shield was also required for added protection.  Some didn’t like the idea, though.  Why? Because face shields are made of plastic that covers the entire face and it somehow blurs the vision especially when you’re walking through uneven pathways, in the rain or in crowded and dim areas.

As the pandemic stretches we can only hope for the safety of our family and our community and help in reminding everyone to be more responsible with our actions as Covid-19 is not a joke.

We see how people who get contaminated with this deadly and horrible virus fight for their lives and sadly, die alone. Not to mention, the large amount of hospital bills every Covid-19 patient has to pay whether he survives the virus or not.

So it’s never enough – we have to keep reminding everyone:  protect yourselves and your loved ones, it’s a must to get vaccinated and stock up on pandemic essentials that will come in handy whenever you need them.

I’m sharing with you some of mine.

Must haves nowadays… Facemask, Alcohol, Lanyard and Wet Wipes

MY PANDEMIC ESSENTIALS

  • Face Masks-– As required, face masks are the number one thing we should have, This protects  us from being directly contaminated by the Covid -19 virus and other infections. I use surgical masks and N95, as they have added layers of protection, others also use K94 which is also recommended.

  • Alcohol-–  When we say alcohol, one thing comes to mind, it disinfects. There are variants of alcohol according to its component–like Isopropyl or Ethyl Alcohol .Whichever you choose to use, they guarantee first hand protection from germs especially when you can’t wash your hands right away after handling money or if the need arises.

  • Baby Wipes— This may not be  an essential for some but for me it is. To make sure I have something to pull out just in case I can’t wash my hands immediately and to have something for wiping out dirt on my skin, at least there’s something I can easily grab.

  • Mask Lanyard-– Because of the demand and use of face masks, this lanyard that was originally used for eyeglasses (for hanging around your neck when not in use so it won’t be misplaced) is now used for face masks!  See how resourceful we can be?

  • Face Shield-– Lastly, I mentioned about this above. Honestly, I’m not really a fan of face shields but it provides protection as they say, then we should wear it. There are places that require  face shields but in open places we can remove it if we want to as long as we practice social distancing and wear our face masks properly.

While we all want to achieve herd immunity soonest, the best way to prevent Covid-19 to get into our system is to get ourselves vaccinated, eat healthy, exercise and take daily vitamins to boost our immune system. Also, practicing minimum safety protocols and having these essentials handy can save us from harm. Stay safe!
