April is Panaad Sa Negros month for us, Negrenses.
It is during this time when people gather at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod to view the exciting displays and events from the different towns and cities of Negros Occidental.
This year is considered extra special.
After the 3 year hiatus from celebrating gatherings and big events, Panaad Sa Negros Festival is back!
On its 27th year, we are proud to say we made it through the pandemic and we are back to celebrate and give honor to the craftsmanship and hard work of our fellow Negrenses.
MOTHER OF ALL FESTIVALS
Participants of this much awaited event that come from different towns and cities of Negros Occidental will have the chance to showcase their livelihood products, cafts, food and souvenir items all hand crafted by Negrense folks.
Last Tuesday, (March 14) was the official kick off for Panaad Sa Negros 2023.
Held at the Negros Occidental Provincial Capitol Grounds, the event was graced by Neg. Occ. Governor Eugenio “Bong” Lacson, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, Panaad Executive Director, Ms. Cheryl Decena, city mayors and guests.
“Today, after three years of hiatus we are once again ready to celebrate the Panaad Sa Negros Festival, and we are extremely grateful that through God’s favor and grace, the time has allowed us to gather today for the launch of our most awaited festival.” said Gov. Lacson in his speech.
EXCITING FESTIVAL ACTIVITIES
As the Panaad Sa Negros 2023 kicks off, preparations for the various activities of the festival have started rolling. THe Lin-Ay Sang Negros Beauty Pageant is one of the main events to look forward to at the Panaad Stadium. Special guests from Manila will also come to the event. Fans of December Avenue, Itchy Worms and Rivermaya will surely be delighted to watch their idols rock on stage! These will surely make our summer more exciting and fun!
