WILL IT BE A HAPPY OR A BLOODY ENDING?
If you have been watching Init Sa Magdamag then you know how exciting and outrageously breathtaking the scenes are.
It’s never not to be missed as every scene is full of action, revelation and emotion unveiled, it’s like watching a movie every night.
Before its final closing, the stars gathered via a zoom conference to express their thanks and reach out to those who continue to watch ISM. Joining the mediacon were Gerald Anderson (as Tupe), JM de Guzman (as Peterson), Yam Concepcion (as Rita) and young stars Gab Lagman (as Kiko) and Alexa Ilacad (as Hannah).
As the story comes to an end there will be more difficult scenes, struggles and confrontations of the characters which will be highlighted on different angles. When asked how is it to shoot these kinds of scenes especially in a lock in taping, Direk Raymund Ocampo said, “As time goes by, pahirap ng pahirap hanggang matatapos na ‘yung scene namin sa dulo. Every time, pahirap ng pahirap. Dati marami ka pang nagagawa pag uwi galing taping pero ngayon diretso tulog na kasi maaga naman the following day. So, doon sa scenario kita talaga na hirap kami sa pagtrabaho ng mga eksena.”
RELEVANT AND SENSITIVE ISSUES TACKLED
Init Sa Magdamag shows the more sensitive issues in a married couple’s life, one of which is marital abuse may it be physical, emotional or psychological. These things need to be addressed in our society but sometimes the victims end up scared and traumatized.
When asked about their views, here’s what the characters have to say:
Yam: I think napaka-tapang ng show namin kaya I’m very grateful na naging bahagi ako ng teleseryeng ito kasi nai-empower yung mga kababaihan. Saka ‘yung mga battered wife, I’m in no position to even speak coz never ko ‘yun naranasan and hindi natin alam kung ano ba talaga ang nararamdaman nila. Kasi sila talaga, they are actually going through it in real life. Ang hirap nu’n. But you know, you have to stand up! You have to stand for yourself. Know your worth as woman.”
JM: “Sobrang risky po ‘yung pag tape namin ng mga scenes. Marami ang mga walang boses and are suffering from that too. And for me, to portray that kind of character malaking responsibilidad po ‘yun. Hindi tama manakit ng asawa kung may pagdududa, may thin line po ‘dun at hindi talaga tama na manakit ng babae.”
Gerald: “Proud ako that it was able o raise awareness kahit storyline nina Peterson at Rita ‘yun. Ngayon mas may self respect na and she’s standing up for herself na unlike nu’ng una sa sobrang pagmamahal niya kay Peterson tinatanggap niya at bumabalik pa rin sa kanya.
Kaya marami ang nakaka-relate rin sa show namin dahil nangyayari ito sa tunay na buhay. May mga nagti-text nga sa akin na na-iinspire sila sa karakter ni Rita, it gives them strength. May impact siya talaga sa kababaihan. And to be part of a show like this, na may impact, may mga natutunan ang mga tao lalo na ang mga kababaihan, nakaka-proud.”
SO WHAT’S NEXT TUPE, RITA & PETERSON?
In the last two weeks of ISM, Tupe (Gerald) and Rita (Yam) vowed to make Peterson (JM) pay for all of his sins following his arrest for attempted murder and the death of Miguel Salcedo (Joey Marquez).
