PINOY BOODLE FIGHT

Here comes our Tali Boodle!

I had my first boodle fight experience back in 2012 also at Blackbeard Seafood Island in Greenbelt, Makati. This restaurant was established in 2004 and eventually, branched out to some provinces in the Philippines.

As we know, the island of Negros is abundant with all kinds of seafood— fish, shrimps, prawns, squid and all sorts of shell fish that abound in this province.  It is these fresh catch that are locally sourced from seafood sellers and brought to Blackbeard Seafood Island’s table for customers to relish and enjoy.

BOODLE FEAST CHOICE

In a boodle fight feast, food is placed in top of a banana leaf-lined table and eaten with bare hands or kamayan style which Filipinos are known for.

Mouthwaring ocean gems.. how can you resist these fresh sea foods?

At Blackbeard’s there are 12 Boodle Feasts that you can choose from.  The names are derived from different places/ events in the Philippines.

  • Tali Beach
  • Dapitan’s Pride
  • Boracay Feast
  • Dagupan Festival
  • Apo
  • Ilocandia
  • Davao
  • Meaty Madness

  • Taal
Fried rice can go with any seafood faves

On our visit to its newly opened Ayala Capitol Central Bacolod branch, we feasted on the Tali Boodle (Php 1999 for 5-6 persons). The whole platter had squid, tilapia, grape seaweed, grilled pork slices, bowls of ensaladas, ginisa nga ginamos (sautéed shrimp paste), crabs and pieces of shrimps.

We had to order our drinks separately because the serving doesn’t include drinks.  This way we could choose what could refresh us after we feasted on these ocean gems.
