New Gen Phenomenal Love Team Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano are about to unravel Gen Z’s concept of love in “Can’t Buy Me Love,” which will premiere first on streaming platforms Netflix Philippines and iWantTFC before airing on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5 beginning October 16.

This marks the second teleserye to stream on Netflix Philippines under the continuous partnership between ABS-CBN and Netflix. DonBelle fans would not wait any long as they can start streaming this much-anticipated series starting October 13 or 72 hours ahead of its TV broadcast. Meanwhile, iWantTFC users also get a premium as they can also watch it 48 hours before its TV premiere through their apps and iwanttfc.com.

KILIG MUCH WITH DONBELLE

Viewers will get a free dose of kilig in this series as Mae Cruz Alviar, the director of the hit series “2 Good 2 Be True,” will team up with Donny and Belle for the first time. So what’s new with Don-Belle in this project?

“I think nasabi na rin ni Direk Mae  (Cruz-Alviar) eh.” says Donny then Belle suddenly butted in,

“First time ko pong hindi gaganap na mayaman.”

The entire cast was presented to the media with Direk Mae last October 4, Wednesday. When asked about the character they portray now, Donny and Belle said, the roles are different from what they used to do in their past projects.
”Hindi mayaman ang role ko rito. Ang daming bago rin talaga. I think, more of the  question is, ano bang similar? Kasi ang daming changes, there are so many new things in this project na hindi niyo pa nakikita sa ibang project namin. For one, tama si Direk Ian hindi lang ito rom-com. May action, drama, thriller. Lahat na ng puwede mong maisip. Totoo naman di ba? Kasi ang dami mong emotions na mapipi-feel when you watch the show. And at the end of the show, mapapaisip ka what will happen next? So it’s nice na we get to portray  characters na may challenge and we give  this different flavor of chemistry and kilig. ” sabi pa ni Donny.

When asked what life lessons can this show impart to the viewers especially to the youth?

“That you can’t buy love…” Belle blurted out.

The series revolves around the distinct lives of teenagers Bingo (Donny), a hard-working seller who wants to save up to P1 million after his mother left him, and Caroline (Belle), the black sheep of a wealthy Filipino Chinese family. Their worlds will collide after Bingo saves Caroline from the kidnappers who left her almost drowning.

Joining Donny and Belle in this Star Creatives produced series are veteran actors Nova Villa, Celeste Legaspi, Agot Isidro, Rowell Santiago, and Ruffa Gutierrez.

“Galing ako sa isang role na mahirap pantayan. I played the president. Also Mariano, the fake president. And it took me a year bago ako tumanggap ng project  para mabura talaga sa tao ‘yung ginampanan ko noon. And I think, playing Wilson as the chairman here is the right choice that I waited that long. Pero ang feeling ko, tama  ang pagtanggap ko rito sa Can’t Buy Me Love. Plus, ano eh, ang sarap ng feeling na puro bata ang makakasama ko. Dahil nakakabata talaga ang pakiramdam.” sabi pa ni Direk Rowell na excited makasama ang mga bagets sa proyektong ito.

It was also in this  mediacon where Ruffa mentioned that DonBelle superstars of their generation. Of course, the two were really flattered and overwhelmed by the actress’ compliments.

Also joining the cast are Maris Racal, Albie Casiño, Kaila Estrada, Joao Constancia, Karina Bautista, Vivoree, and Darren.
